Carving - Raven with Frog Comb by Aubrey Johnson C2008
The Raven is a large Black bird also a rare White Raven they are one of the most important beings in Northwest Art he is known to be a Trickster, Transformer, and attributed to the discovery of fire and the Frog is a great communicator, and often represents the common ground or voice of the other people.
This exquisite Comb has been Meticulously carved with all the detail right down to the toes on the Human, another fine example of Aubrey's work. Here we have the Raven holding the Frog in his mouth and the Human riding in his head.
This piece is carved from Red Cedar and the measurements are 7 inches in height by 2 3/4 inches wide by 3/4 inches in depth.
